I just finished day 1 of my second week of 21 day fix from Beachbody. I wanted to blog a little about my postpartum workout journey.
I was struggling to find a routine after I had Olivia. Once I was cleared to workout I thought it would just click and I’d be back at it. Well, life doesn’t always go as planned. Yeah I was walking and even running daily. I did some mediocre weight exercises but nothing that was consistent or close to a routine but I was being active. Then last week something just clicked! I was ready! Olivia was a little older, I was back into a routine at our new house. Life seemed to have mellowed out and I knew it was finally time to start again, like really start. So here I am 9 days into working out and I’m feeling great!
My main goal is to fit back into my clothes from before I was pregnant and to just feel good, have more energy and be healthy. My daughter is only (almost) 5 months old and I’m not getting any younger. I want to be healthy and able to keep up with her as she gets older. I also want to teach her healthy habits. Those start with me (and Nick). So I’m not only doing this for myself but also for her.
I’m just feeling extremely motivated. I know what my body is capable of because I’ve been extremely fit before. I’ve done the research. I know what works for my body. I’ve gained the muscle, ate the right foods to achieve my goals. I know what to do. I just have to do it. It’s difficult to see how far back I’ve fallen over the years but I know I can get back to it. All it takes is consistency. I am my biggest motivation. I do have a few friends that inspire me with their fitness journeys but at the end of the day I’m only competing with myself. Trying to be better than I was the day before. This is my journey and I’m excited to see where it takes me.
Awesome Trisha! Your words are very inspiring! ☺
